Drinking Museum Program
The Commission reserves this designation for regional Historic Drinking Establishments that have taken the lead to promote Drinking Heritage with historic restoration, preservation, and/or official historic registration to preserve the areas traditions. These establishments should be recognized by locals and visitors alike as the "must go" place to truly experience the history, romance, and attitude of the area.

The Commission was founded to recognize Shorty's as The Port Aransas Drinking Museum.
The relocation of Port Aransas' oldest and friendliest bar was executed flawlessly, preserving the look and feel of this classic South Coast of Texas beer joint with a full bar.
